The Inner Tuba Western Isles Tour.
Part 1: 24th - 31st August 2006.
Part 2: 16th - 23rd March 2007.

Both parts of the tour are successfully completed. Inner Tuba pedalled to all parts of the Outer Hebrides apart from Barra - ferries were cancelled due to truly horrible weather ! The islands form a varied and beautiful 150 mile long chain, situated off the North West coast of Scotland. With generous funding from the Department of Education, Comhairle nan Eilean Siar, Inner Tuba visited around 19 schools from The Butt to (almost !!) Barra.
Here's an article which appeared in the Loch a Tuath News, following an appearance at Back School, near Stornoway, Isle of Lewis...

It seems that the Outer Hebrides takes hospitality toward its visitors seriously. Inner Tuba is not alone cycling on the islands - in fact, thanks to good ferry links, roads, low budget accommodation, varied (sometimes challenging !) terrain, cycling is increasing in popularity there. A useful cycle touring specific website has been launched by the Outer Hebrides Tourist Office entitled www.cyclehebrides.com.
